Music of the Week: The Black Pacific

Anyone who is a fan of Pennywise has heard of the Black Pacific, since Jim Lindberg is the vocalist. But to anyone out there who hasnt heard of them, they just released their first, self-titled, album. Its an amazing album, and even though they have the vocalist from Pennywise, they have a bit different of a sound, more hard rock than punk. Anyway heres a link to their site and a few of my favorite songs from their album:

Music of the Week: False Idle

Ive decided to put up some new music that i have just discovered once a week, whether it be a band, album, song or whatever, im always trying to build that library for long roadtrips.
So for this week Ive chosen the band False Idle. I kinda stumbled upon them while just browsing the internet wasting time. I just thought it was hilarious because its definitely not your typical punk music, but then again thats what being a punk is all about.  Heres a link to their site, I recommend listening to "Old Rugged Cross", i actually kinda liked it.

The Whiny Bitch Factor

Just a few months ago I was in my truck on the way to the beach, and my ipod was on shuffle. At the time I didnt even know who the Gorilla Biscuits were, and so when "Start Today" came on I was like, this sucks, he sounds like a whiny little bitch, and i figured it had to be one of these new "punk" bands, and sure enough when i looked at my ipod, it was none other than fall out boy. In the title name it said (Gorilla Biscuits Cover), so then i listened to the original and instantly decided this is one of the many things that separates real punk bands, from a group of sellouts, where its all about the $$$. Anthony Civarelli, Gorilla Biscuits vocalist, has a raspy raw true sound to his voice, but fall out boy's singer sounds like a 13 yr old girl. I call this The Whiny Bitch Factor. But dont take my word for it, check it out for yourself--->
